What is Mentoring Timothy?
Mentoring Timothy is a 10-month mentoring program for young men who desire to take their relationship with Christ more seriously. We exist to help transform young men's lives holistically so that their understanding of manhood is shaped by Biblical principles, not the world.
Our Name
We are called “Mentoring Timothy” because our purpose is to follow the example of the biblical apostle Paul, who knew Christ personally and trained many young men to be co-laborers for the gospel. One of them, Timothy, spent at least three years in Ephesus under Paul’s training. Paul once wrote about Timothy,
“I have no one else like him…. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel”
- Philippians 2:20-22
The Mentoring Continues
Paul left Timothy in Ephesus to serve as the pastor of the church there, but he didn’t forget about him. He wrote two letters to the young pastor (1 and 2 Timothy) to encourage him to walk in the faith, combining solid teaching with radical living.
Following the Example
As Paul mentored Timothy, Titus, and others, we aim to mentor young men, encouraging them in their faith and helping them grow into the men God has called them to be.
