Leadership

Mentoring Timothy is made up of people passionate about their walk with Jesus and their walk with others. God has used these two passions to bring together an incredible staff.

As missionaries, sent through the local church, each family on the leadership team relies 100% on support from family, friends and churches. Please consider supporting these families as they serve Mentoring Timothy.

Dave & Missy Schroeder

Dave & Missy graduated from New Tribes Bible Institute and worked with New Tribes Mission for 13 years, serving first in Papua New Guinea and then at New Tribes Bible Institute. They are fun, adventurous, godly, and big-hearted—the perfect couple to start a program like Mentoring Timothy.

Dave grew up in Brazil with parents who worked with two different indigenous groups, fostering his lifelong love for ministry, adventure, and the outdoors. In Papua New Guinea, he and Missy lived out the gospel among an extremely remote tribe. They built their own home at the edge of the jungle, where they lived with their three young children. Talk about adventure! Upon returning to the States, Dave spent nearly a decade serving as the Dean of Single Men at New Tribes Bible Institute. His passion for seeing young men walk closely with Jesus compelled him to start Mentoring Timothy, and he serves as the Executive Director of the program.

Missy grew up in Wyoming and Nebraska, near trout streams where her family loved spending lots of time camping and fishing. She is an avid runner, logging many miles each week to clear her mind and enjoy the presence of her Savior. Missy loves Jesus and desires to daily walk closely with Him—this is her greatest joy. Her biggest passion at home is to live out Jesus in such a way that her kids fall in love with Him and aren’t distracted by the false offerings of this life. Missy also loves to entertain with food, as she and Dave frequently host young men in their home. She is an excellent cook and excels at making her guests feel comfortable. Currently, her primary role is homeschooling the couple’s three children.
